Shipping

How long will I have my rental?

One full day is allotted for the photoshoot.

We ship early to make sure it arrives 1-2 days before your rental/photoshoot

Once your shoot is complete, please drop off the dress box THE DAY AFTER your photo shoot.

If you need extra days (travel days, etc) you can book extra rental days (+$25 per day)

Some UPS Stores are closed on Sundays - if closed please drop off Monday morning.

Is the return label included?

Yes! WE use ONLY UPS ground shipping, and the return label is Included. Please keep your box, and place the return label over the old shipping label.

Once your shoot is complete, please drop off the dress box THE DAY AFTER your photo shoot.

(you will be charged just one Shipping charge. If you choice to pay 50% dress deposit you will only be charged the Round trip UPS shipping on the 50% deposit)

Is Overnight Shipping available?

Yes.  If you need to inquire about a last minute rental please DM us at Saltgowns on Instagram or Email us at hello@saltgowns.com

What happens if my dress gets lost/delayed in transit?

This is very uncommon, but in the unfortunate event your dress does get lost or arrives late, please send me a DM on Instagram or an email at hello@saltgowns.com.

We will not refund any order due to late arrival out of our control. We do ship early to arrive 2 Shipping days before your photoshoot. We also use UPS (not the USPS/Post Office) and they have a 99.5% On time shipping.
If delivered late, and you are unable to postpone your shoot, will give you a credit for a future rental (minus the shipping charges already paid)

Do you ship internationally?

Yes & No. We ship for Photographers Internationally. Message us on Instagram or Email us to see if we are able to with your International rental.

Pickup

I'm local to the SLC area, can I pick up my dress?

Yes. Dresses are available for local pickup. When you checkout, please select “Local Pickup”

We will contact you to arrange pick up date and time.

Herriman Utah address will be provided once your pickup date and time is confirmed

How long is a local rental?

Maximum 3 days: 1 pickup day, 1 photoshoot day, 1 drop off day (or same day pickup and drop off.)

Sizing

How will I know what size of dress I need?

Each dress will have its specific sizing listed in the dress description.

Most dresses are two styles that are adjustable sizes that fit multiple sizes. The Robe style with the adjustable waist tie typically fits xs-xxxl & the corset back style that fit multiple sizes (2-14)

Do you offer plus sizes?

Yes! We have plus size options available up to size 24

Can I try on the dress before renting?

A try-on would be considered the same as a regular rental. The dress requires the same amount of rental time. Yes, you are more than welcome to rent for a try-on period.

I am tall/short, will the dress fit me?

The dresses are made to be oversized and flowy.

If shorter, just be careful not to step on the excess length. (extra length photographs beautifully)

If taller, the dresses fit (with extra length) up to 5'10-5'11

Cleaning/Repairs

What is the Cleaning Fee Retainer?

This is a Refundable Cleaning Retainer. When the dress is returned clean + not damaged, you will be refunded this fee in full!

If the dress is returned dirty or with damage, your cleaning fees or repair fees will be deducted from this retainer (this may not cover the entire cleaning/reapir fee depending on the dress condition when returned)

If the dress is returned hairy, dirty, stained, or damaged, you will be responsible for the cost of basic cleaning, dry-cleaning or repair/replacement. (we will do the dry cleaning, please do not dry clean yourself).

Do I need to get the dress cleaned?

Please remove any hair/weeds/grass or anything that gets on the dress.

PLEASE be mindful and try to return the dress in the state it was given to you.

No you don't wash or dry clean.

You CAN spot clean with a wet, white dish towel and soap.

If the dress is returned hairy, dirty, stained, or damaged, you will be responsible for the cost of basic cleaning, dry-cleaning or repair/replacement. (we will do the dry cleaning, please do not dry clean yourself).

What if the dress gets dirty?

If the dress is returned dirty we will charge the following fees:

Basic Cleaning Fee: $20+ (small cleaning)

Dry Cleaning Fee: $50 (grass stains, road stains, makeup, spray tans, etc.)

Red Dirt Dry Cleaning Fee: $75+ (Moab, Zion, Sedona, Etc)

Hair Removal: $20-50+ - horse, dog, cat, beard hair, any hair (You can remove before you return or you will be charged the fee)

What if the dress gets damaged?

The dress is to be returned in the same condition it was received. Please inspect the dress once you receive, if you see anything, send us a photo ASAP, via Saltgowns@gmail.com or DM @Saltgowns. You are responsible for the repair or replacement fee when returned.

Basic String Unravel: $15+

Rip/Tear/Holes: $40+

Damaged Beyond Repair: you are responsible for a whole dress replacement ($600+)

NO sparklers or smoke bombs (they burn holes and permenantly stain-requiring a full dress replacement)

Traveling with the Dress

How do I book a dress if I am traveling out of state?

example: "I live in Washington but I am traveling to California for a photoshoot"

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL WITH THE DRESS (it will take up an entire carry on bag) you will need to book extended days

We can also ship it to your hotel or the local UPS store of your photoshoot area (NO AIRBNBS since we ship it to arrive early)

If you need additional travel days - we do offer extended rentals (+$25 per day)

How do I book a dress if I am traveling Internationally?

example: "I live in United States but I am traveling to Paris for a photoshoot"

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL WITH THE DRESS (it will take up almost an entire carry on bag) you will need to book extended days

If you need additional travel days - we do offer extended rentals (+$25 per day)

General Questions

When Should I book my rental?

As soon as you can! Many of our gowns rent out months in advance. Booking early will help to ensure you have more dress options available.

You can book your rental date up to 9 months in avdance.

Need something last minute? Send us an email or DM on Instagram and we can help you reserve a dress currently in stock. Espress shipping can run anywhere from $35-120 depending on location and dress.

What occasions are approved for rentals?

These include styled shoots, anniversary shoots, birthday shoots, gender reveals, self-love shoots, baby showers, maternity shoots, or “just want to take pictures in a pretty dress” shoots.

They are NOT intended for weddings, proms, or dances. 

What occasions are NOT approved for rentals?

They are NOT intended for weddings, proms, or dances (this is A LOT of wear and tear on the dresses)

No Fundraisers, Balls, Masquerades, or Similar Events

We offer custom made dresses and have dresses for sale for these purposes.

If we find that a dress was rented for a wedding/event (without authorization) it is a minimum $1000 charge.

Can I rent for an Elopement?

Yes, we do rent for elopements :)

Elopement rentals are additional $150.

We freshly dry clean and press the dress (so its perfect for your big day) before we ship PLUS dry clean again when we receive the dress back.

Can I get the dress wet?

Please be mindful of the dress getting wet. (the dress gets very heavy/easy to rip/and not recommend in Ocean currents or waves or Rivers) Please reach out for specific tips and limitations.

No pools/hot tubs (chemicals can damage the dresses)

If your dress gets wet, hang dress up on dress hanger to air dry immediately after your shoot. That way you can ship a dry dress the next day. (If sandy, shake out the dress when it is dried - a wet dress is too heavy and may rip)

What if my photoshoot is postponed/cancelled?

Cancelations will NOT be accepted (for weather, sickness, change of mind, vendor/model cancellations, etc)

Please Email or DM us on Instagram as soon as you know you need to reschedule.

Reschedules will not be accepted within 15 days of the rental date.

If you need to cancel entirely you will be refunded 50% of the balance paid. The other 50% is NON-REFUNDABLE

Sometimes if the dress isn't booked the following week, you can extend your rental for an additional $15-25 per day. If the dress is already booked & we are unable to extend your rental, you are still required to return the dress the day after your original photoshoot date.

Please make a back up plan for weather just in case (like a studio).

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES


If you wish to return or exchange your gown, a return must be applied within 7 days of delivery.

Items sent to us without return request will be sent back to the client. 

To be eligible for an exchange or return, the item must be unworn, unwashed, undamaged, with no stains or alterations, be mindful of makeup, deodorant, pet hair, and strong smells (smoke, perfume, etc.), as these can make your item ineligible for return. If the item is received and is not-accepted for any of the above reasons, Salt Gowns will return the item back to you at no cost.

If the item is received and accepted, Salt Gowns will process the refund via the payment method chosen, or exchange for new items per your request.

    • Request must be made within 7 days of delivered tracking status

INELIGIBLE ITEMS
    • Bodysuits
    • Accessories
    • Used Gowns
    •Items with custom selections (i.e. cut to length, mixed sizing, mixed/custom colors, custom add ons, XXL+ size gowns)
    • Items that have been worn/damaged 
    • Items received back to us outside of the 7 day delivery date
    • Items that arrived damaged/incorrect, and we were contacted outside of the 24 hour notification period
    •Gift cards

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    For refunds via original payment method, a 50% Restocking fee will be assessed to re-stock the item. This is of the item cost only and does not include shipping or rush fees.
   
    Original shipping charges are non-refundable

    Rush fees are non-refundable
    Buyer is responsible for return all shipping charges. We have a dress maker in Europe.

RETURN DETAILS

If you wish to return your item and be refunded back via the original payment method, a 50% restocking fee will be deducted from the item total, this includes Ready to Ship items as well. The remaining balance will be sent back via the same method of payment used when ordering after the item has been received, inspected, and accepted. After the item has been accepted, the refund will be sent within 3 business days. We are not responsible for delays made by the bank in depositing your funds.

If you wish to return the item for in store credit there can be a Restocking fee will be assessed and you can use the credit at any time in the within 12 months from issue date. A gift card will be issued via email within 3 business days of the item being received, inspected, and accepted.

The client is responsible for shipping the item back to our warehouse. Shipping and Rush Processing Fees are non-refundable.


EXCHANGE DETAILS

After submitting a request, and receiving confirmation from Salt Gowns that the exchange is approved, the client is responsible for the shipping cost to return the gown to our warehouse.

What do I do if my item is incorrect or damaged?

Email photos of the damage or incorrect item within 24 hours (or it is ineligible) to hello@saltgowns.com with the order number in the subject line.

Include a description of the problem and your event date in the body of the email.

When the request and photos are received, and the issue is determined to be our mistake, Salt Gowns will cover the shipping back to our warehouse and work with you to get a new item out before the event (if the time frame allows)
